Takashi Kanamori had his sights on this and in the 7ft 11inch blank, packed in all the factors required for long rod fishing.
The blank from the Slugger has been composed with a sensitive and soft tip, vital belly and the grand butt power to land any fish, while having an inexhaustible underlying power when loaded. We have also expanded the anglers fishing grounds by enabling the lure to cast out farther than ever before.
Anglers will be able to present their lures to previously unreachable fish.
Furthermore, long rods tend to feel heavy but through careful guide settings and optimizing the grip balance, we have reduced the stress on the angler. The vertically maneuvering of the long rod has generally been a big disadvantage but we have improved the rods lightness and controllability. In addition, the time lag typically seen in long rods when hooking up has been reduced drastically improving the hookup rate.
In these ways, the Slugger has been put together without the demerits and stresses of the typically long shafted rods. Being the first in the GLADIATOR series to be able to detach and join the blank section to the grip section, the Slugger model has a shorter fore grip while having greater controllability and sensitivity.
Anglers will be able to utilize various rigs including Texas rigs, rubber jigs and heavy weight soft plastics with the weight ranging from 10 ~ 15g.
True to its name, this rod assumes the role of the 4th batter (Slugger) of a baseball team called the GLADIATOR.
