RAID JAPAN aimed to create a crank-bait specialized for land-based fishing. We sought after 3 main elements;

1) Casting distance:
For retrieving type lures, with more casting distance one has a greater chance of picking up a bite. We were able to design the petite body of the Level Crank to cast like a vibration type lure, while giving it the accuracy required for the short casts in shallow cranking.

2) The ability to maintain its depth, vital for land-based fishing:
We sought for a shallow cranking bait with the ability to maintain the super shallow range. The Level Crank has made it possible to maintain its range through its super slow sinking settings. Once it hits the water and initiate retrieval, it will immediately dive down to the optimum 60~80cm depth and maintain that range for a prolonged trace course.

3) The ability to avoid snags:
In the super shallow area where the shallow crank baits come into play, the riprap, bush and weedy snags are unavoidable factors. Another important element for a land-based anglers lure is its ability to slip past these structures to induce a bite from that monster ready to ambush.
In contrast to those ordinary crank-baits that swim with the head down, the Level Crank will swim in more of a horizontal posture similar to the other lures in the Level series. This has drastically reduced the lure to dive straight into the weeds or ripraps to avoid any snags.
