The OKAEBI (EBI = shrimp in Japanese) was developed to not only look like a realistic bait, but we also sought after its sense of “vitality”, “presence” and the distinct difference between “movement and stationary”.
The feeling of vitality created from the fine arms, curly and its leg parts set to the body is none other than the real EBI. The stimulating action during its fall and swimming imitates the “movement” created by a bait in pursuit from a predator. In contrast, the subtle, quiet and still movement when placed on the bottom imitates the “stationary” natural looking action.
It is the ultimate EBI type soft plastic that has contradicting characteristics as a reaction bait through its “movement” and a natural bait from its subtle “stationary” action.
The bass feeding on those EBI habitating throughout Japan in small ponds, flat lakes, rivers, creeks and reservoirs is the ultimate target for the OKAEBI.

(A) LONG ARM
The unique feature of the OKAEBI are the 4 arms which are set to be longer than the body. They expand and contract with the twitch of you wrist mesmerizing the bass. The life like arms will automatically move and change shape once it is in the water, inducing bites from the bass without any hesitation. Furthermore, the finely tuned length of the arms react to the slightest rod action and current in the water reducing the need for the anglers to overwork the rod. Anglers will soon realize that the OKAEBI produces bites when it is immobile.
(B) THIN CURLY
The super thin curly set on the side of the body will take hold of the slightest water pressure against it, producing a more complex action for the arms. It is one of the key components for the OKAEBI, delivering a complex current for the arms to react at various fall and swim speeds.
(C) LIVELY LEG
The 6 legs on the side of the body have been designed with different lengths to appeal to the bass with a different type of action to the other components. Its role is to not only appeal to the bass, but to also prevent the body from spinning reducing any chances of line trouble. When in use as a trailer for a rubber jig, these legs will beef up your rig giving it a sense of unity.
(D) BODY FORM
The body shape of the OKAEBI has no back nor front, formed with a triangular cross section. The somewhat round bumpy section and the straight flat surface allows anglers to set the hook in a different position depending on the situation leading you to that special fish.
When using an off-set hook, you can reduce snags by piercing the tip of the hook through the bumpy section (the body helps guard the tip). If you want to improve your hooking rate, pierce the tip of the hook through the flat surface. We recommend using a #3 off set hook.
(E) ORIGINAL MATERIAL
We finally managed to find the golden ratio for the material and weight of the OKAEBI, not too light nor too heavy. With the addition of salt to the prawn flavored material, it will surely help induce that long awaited bite.
